Former Tide Pro Update : The All-Star Break |
|
|
*Adam Pavkovich has been knocking the
cover off the ball this season, with an impressive line of .301/.360.555 with
17 homers and 52 driven in. Considering how miserable their offensive
production has been this season, the Halos would be wise to give the versatile
Pavkovich a look – he certainly wouldn’t be any worse than what they’ve been
getting out of the overpaid, washed-up carcasses of Garret Anderson and Little
Sarge.
![]() *Tommy Hunter certainly appears to be on the fast track to Arlington. After opening the season with High-A Bakersfield, he was promoted to Double-A Frisco for eight starts. He is presently knocking on the door to the big leagues after three stellar starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City. ![]() *Former Crimson Tide relief pitcher (ahem) Matt Downs leads the entire San Francisco organization in home runs (17) at the break. Following his promotion all the way from High-A San Jose, Downs has established himself as a regular in the Triple-A Fresno lineup. This season he has seen action at first base, second base, third base, shortstop, right field, and left field. ![]() *Congratulations to Paul Phillips, who is spent the first day of the All-Star break getting married. (He's also hitting a solid .311 with Triple-A Charlotte while adding a 33% caught stealing mark behind the plate). Crimson Tide in Professional Baseball MLB Lance Cormier, Baltimore Orioles Andy Phillips, Cincinnati Reds David Robertson, New York Yankees Triple-A Matt Downs, Fresno Grizzlies (SF) Kelley Gulledge, Las Vegas 51s (LAD) (DL) Tommy Hunter, Oklahoma City RedHawks (TEX) Wade LeBlanc, Portland Beavers (SD) Adam Pavkovich, Salt Lake Bees (LAA) Paul Phillips, Charlotte Knights (CWS) Taylor Tankersley, Albuquerque Isotopes (FLA) Double-A T.J.
